Listen to 702 DZAS Kaliwanagan Kay Kristo (a segment of Tanglaw sa Landas ng Buhay of Back to the Bible Philippiness) every Tuesday and Thursday 7:00PM.
Ang tutugunan nating argument ngayon ay "Jesus is not God because He never claimed to be God."
How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?" Sagot ni Clapton, "I don't know. Ask Prince." Of course he was referring to the legendary musician na si Prince.
"Mr Emperor, how does it feel to be god." Sana ang isinagot ni Tiberius, "I don't know, ask Jesus of Nazareth."
Ang support sa claim na is because he never to have claimed he is.
Observation ni Alisa Childers ng Mama Bear Apologetics,
- One of the most common objections skeptics raise to the deity of Christ is the idea that Jesus never actually claimed to be God. Sure the church ended up worshiping Him as such, but this was a later development that was projected onto Jesus but wasn't something He intended to claim for Himself....or so the argument goes.
Jesus actually claimed he was God in at least 3 important verses in Scripture na bahagi sa historical na reflection ng simbahan noon pa man sa panahon ng early church. We will discuss the first one in this article and then yung remaining na dalawa next.
A little bit of idea lang concerning the issue. Ayon kay Alissa Childers, former bandmember ng ZoeGirls who really is a good and learned writer said,
- If you are expecting to find a Bible verse in which Jesus stands on the Mount of Olives and proclaims in English, and every other known language, "I am God!" You won't find it. He actually did one better.”
Ang una po sa “did one better” na yan is Mark 14:61-62 that say, “But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Pag binasa mo ito na walang awareness kung saan galing yang phrase na yan na “son of man” iisipin mo Jesus was in fact claiming himself to be man. Pero not so fast.
- authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed (v14).
The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”
Of course yung mga Jews was referring to the law of Moses most specifically sa Leviticus 24:16 na nagsasabi, “Whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord shall surely be put to death.”
And at any point during the mugging of the people on Jesus, our Lord never lifted a finger to refute them or fight back.
